The house

Eighteen people, and every intention of staying that way

Mithril Industries was founded in Lyon in 2016. We are independent, with no outside investor, and we have never tried to become large. We have tried to be good for a long time.

Our history

Ten years, no swerve

We have not pivoted, raised money or changed our name. What follows is simply the order in which we learned to do things.

  1. 2016

    Founding

Adèle Verrier leaves a technical directorship to build a hosting firm on a human scale. Three people, one rented rack in Lyon, eight clients in the first year.

  2. 2018

    The first private suite

We stop renting capacity piecemeal and take a suite reserved for us. That is the point at which we begin answering end to end for what we host.

  3. 2020

    The named engineer

A client asks us never again to give them someone who does not know their file. We make it a rule, then a service.

  4. 2022

    The replica site

The Paris site opens. Critical platforms are replicated to it and failover is tested twice a year, for real, never on paper.

  5. 2024

    Reversibility in the contract

We write into the contract the right to leave with a complete export within five working days, at no charge. Two clients have used it. One came back.

  6. 2026

    Four hundred firms supported

Eighteen people, three sites, and the same rule as in 2016: we accept a project only if we know we can hold it for ten years.

Our values

Four words, borrowed from the metal that gave us our name

Mithril is rare, light, almost indestructible. We have not found a better way of reading our trade.

Rarity
We turn down more projects than we accept. Not as a pose, but because one engineer cannot know thirty platforms intimately.
Fineness
Work done well does not show. A successful migration is one nobody mentions on the Monday morning.
Robustness
We prefer a proven generation of hardware to a recent one. Novelty is a risk our clients did not ask to carry.
Longevity
Our oldest clients have been with us since 2016. It is the only quality measure that really interests us.

The team

Eighteen people, four faces

You will meet several of us over the course of a project. These are the people who carry the responsibility for it.

Adèle Verrier

Founder and managing director

Eighteen years in operations before founding the firm. Still reads every contract.

Julien Bastide

Technical director

Responsible for architecture choices and hardware doctrine. Arbitrates upgrades.

Noor Belkacem

Head of managed operations

Assigns lead engineers and makes sure no file rests on a single person.

Thomas Lengrand

Lead systems engineer

Runs migrations and project takeovers. Writes the maps we hand to clients.

Our eighteen people are split between operations, managed services, network engineering and administration. No function is subcontracted.

Your lead engineer is introduced to you at the kick-off meeting.

We have no sales team. You will speak to an engineer.

That is a choice about how we are built, not a saving. The person who answers you is the one who will run your platform, so they commit only to what they know they can hold.
